This book is certainly one of the most comprehensive volumes for theories of firm internationalization.
Although, it's written in an academic format, and some undergraduate students would find difficult to read, this book is an excellent companion for for Ietto-Gillies (2005).

It is so blatantly obvious that the first two reviews were written by the same person--DUH!
No doubt this individual would rather have you buy books on
Incorporating by no-name self publishers who offer only generic advice.
I previewed this book at Barnes & Noble and spoke with some other business people there who highly recommend this book. Now that I have read it and am using it, I recommend it also.
In Incorporating for dummies you will learn

-state and federal laws about corporations
-the ins and outs of filing a corporate tax return
-the 10 commonly made mistakes by small corporations
-the best ways to create tax free medical benefits and
retirement plans
_a guide to business life after corporations
Incorporating your business for dummies is an excellent book for anyone in business. I also recommend Inc. Yourself by Judith H. McQuown and How To Launch a Business and Incorporate in any state by J.W.Dicks.
Conversely, I bought some of the "self-published" books on the internet and on sale here and was terribly dissappointed. Never buy sight unseen.

The woman knows her stuff!! Joanna Woolfolk describes everything about your sign; she has written one for all 12, and it really helps you gain insight. Even if you aren't a big believer in astrology, reading one of the books for your sign, can really help boost your self-esteem, gain insight into yourself. The last few pages of these books (I have read 2 and they are both formatted the same; excellent presentation), tell you what you need to "work on." Unfinished business for your sign. It talks about possible weaknesses your sign might be prone to, and gives you some food for thought about how to improve these things if you want to. But it also talks about your strengths and really can help you see yourself more clearly and value yourself more. It can help you to read about someone else's sign too, for someone who is important to you; friend, spouse, whatever, and help you understand and appreciate him/her more. You can read the book page by page if you want to, or select a random page and just read that. I will keep this book and really recommend it to you!

A little warning

This is a good sole reference to one star sign and Woolfolk really does know how to speak to astrology newbies.

However, when buying this or the other separate sun sign books keep in mind that most of the text is copied from her other book The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need. I recommend to buy this book instead if you want a deeper insight to astrology
or want to know more about it than one sun sign.

These days, it's fashionable to look at the problems of overweight people and write them off as too much food and too little exercise. But for many it's more complicated than that, and Laurel Mellin has identified six root causes of the behaviors that lead to obesity. She believes it's never too late to develop the skills to overcome these problems, whether the root is an inability to set limits or a life lived out of balance.

The number six is very important in this book, which is likely to be the most hyped diet book of the season. Mellin tells us there are six causes of weight loss and six cures for it--two body, two mind, and two lifestyle. The six cures override the six causes . . . well, you get the idea. In fact, the plethora of sixes proves distracting, which is too bad because some of Mellin's material is legitimately interesting and useful. The ubiquitous anecdotal style often found in self-help books ("Kevin hit the candy machine and worked incessantly" ) gets a little heavy (oops!), but certainly readers struggling with their own weight problems will respond to Mellin's suggestions for nurturing your emotional needs, banishing body shame, eating a balanced diet, and establishing an active lifestyle. More than many diet-book writers, Mellin understands that people, especially the overweight, don't want to get off the couch and exercise. That's where her ideas about understanding the emotional and psychological roots of the problem come in, and her theory is that weight loss can be the result of nurturing oneself and controlling eating in a realistic way. Laurel Mellin, M.A., R.D., is an associate clinical professor of family and community medicine and pediatrics at the University of California at San Francisco School of Medicine. She is the director of the Institute for Health Solutions, and is the author of The Solution: 6 Winning Ways to Permanent Weight Loss and The Shapedown Program. Mellin lectures extensively to health professionals and self-help groups and has appeared on Oprah, Today, Good Morning America, and the CBS Evening News. I'm finding Mellin's book helpful despite some disagreement

Mellin's system is the *only* one that has achieved a 77% longterm (more than 2 years after her 12 week program ended) success rate, at a study done at UC of San Francisco's School of Medicine, where she is currently an associate clinical professor of family and community medicine. As a fat self-esteem coach, it pleases me immoderately to read a book that is founded upon achieving permanent slim as a result of increasing one's awareness in crucial areas, and being responsible for acting upon that new awareness productively. Within Mellin's schema, unresolved lifestyle issues set up stresses that are experienced as "hunger" for the obese, thus overriding the perception of one's own bodily hunger. That is why her book is about performing the fairly subtle, often invisible, actions that satisfy a wide variety of needs, from sensing one's emotions of the moment, to knowing how far to pursue any one desire generally, to asserting oneself at work or with the doctor, eating a "balanced" food intake and exercising. Journals and "feeling" letters help deal with the repression of feeling associated with any compulsion. The first thing that sets Mellin's book apart from the tens of thousands of competing books and articles on this subject is a sense of comprehensiveness. In her beginning pages of "acknowledgments," Mellin has reached out to medical doctors, psychologists, the American Cancer Society, and the US Department of Health. She has made a serious effort to embrace all the leading opinions of folks who are alive and working in a field related to permanent weight-loss-and that effort *shows*!! There is a unique clarity and creativity to her thinking that seems based upon the fact that she made a good-faith effort to consider every important variable when making up her system to achieve permanent weight-loss. One example: Instead of coming up with a low-fat, moderate carbohydrate diet as God's gift to the obese, Mellin sees the necessity of shifting gears from eating "healthy" to eating for pleasure solely! The person who gets to determine when to shift gears is the *reader*, though Mellin is there in the background, supplying principles and examples that help clear the path ahead. In her unique way, she gets to combine the idea of low-fat eating (one moment) with the idea of eating hedonistically for pleasure alone (the next moment). I should mention that, as a self-esteem coach, I do not agree with a number of her ideas in this arena, tending to side more with Dr. Robert Atkins' ketone theory when I would regulate my appestat and with the Leonard and Lillian Pearson's pleasure-and-emotion-enhancing approach to eating when it comes time to eat pleasurably. Disagreements aside, Mellin's approach is both creative and grounded in the realities of day-to-day eating that beset dieters constantly. As a personal note, I have been obese from the age of 8. I began Mellin's program about 1 month ago. During that time, I created my own diet that matched my personal eating history, and promptly lost 10 pounds. I consider myself most definitely to be a *student* of her work, however, since I currently weigh 300 pounds-and believe I should weight about 150-160 pounds. Since each 10 pounds lost tends to be achieved via self-transformation, I have A LOT of learning left to do in this area. However, I am deeply impressed with it, sufficiently to want to use it as a foundation for my coaching skills in the future. Steph Silberstein has, with my coaching, begun Mellin's book a few weeks ago and, without *any* planned diet of any sort, taken off 5 of the 35 pounds she would lose. I hope that all interested folks give Mellin's wonderful book a serious try. While I suspect that many will need support, perhaps active coaching, while applying that book (and some, with serious mental or physical health problems would, undoubtedly serve themselves best by seeking out medical doctors, psychotherapists, or dieticians as additional guides), I think that anyone who is overweight should gather up one's courage in hand and tackle *super*seriously the tremendous challenge implicitly offerred by Mellin, the challenge to be more aware of one's feelings and needs in a number of vital areas and be responsible step-by-step for incorporating that increased awareness into one's behavior.

Compelling Solution

I first learned about this book when I saw the author on the last 90 seconds of a...show related to childhood obesity.
Based on what I heard, I found and purchased this book through Amazon[.com].
I have read the book twice in the last month. It is a Compelling Solution for weight issues although, not a quick fix.
The book offers a way to learn to nuture ourselves from the inside so we don't feel the need to provide external solutions such as food to nuture ourselves.
I am now reading the authors newest book, The Pathway, and I am starting to use the skills day by day. I am hopeful to find a permanent solution (over time) to my weight issues that I have carried all my life. It's been my experience that good things do often require that I be willing to do daily diligence and then earn the rewards over time. Good things do come to those who wait (and take action while they are "waiting")!!!
I highly recommend this book if you have weight issues and feel like you have tried everything but have not yet found a lasting solution. What do you have to lose?

An aggressively didactic history of the animated cartoon from the days before Mickey Mouse to the rise (or fall, depending on your feelings about the Flintstones) of Hanna-Barbera's 137 TV programs. Unlike Eric Smoodin's Animating Culture (p. 516), Klein's history insists on maintaining a sharp focus: It's interested almost exclusively in how and why the shape of the seven-minute cartoon short changed from Felix the Cat to Disney and Warners to the UPA cartoons (Gerald McBoing-Boing, Mr. Magoo) of the 50's. What modes of space and entertainment have different cartoons drawn their inspiration from? The earliest cartoons, argues Klein (California Institute of the Arts), were staged in the depthless space of vaudeville gags, their jokes typically depending on spatial transformations between foreground characters and background objects (Felix using his tail as a crank to start a prop car). What Disney brought to the cartoon short was a fascination with the same deep space that marked live-action movies, with a corresponding emphasis on realistic melodrama, full animation, and the artful illusions of the multiplane camera. Even as Disney was turning increasingly to features and merchandising tie-ins (which alone kept the studio solvent in the 30's and 40's), Tex Avery and Chuck Jones at Warners were leading a more formulaic return to the anarchic chases of the earliest animation. Meanwhile, UPA pioneered the stripped-down style of ``consumer cubism,'' inspired not by painting but by advertisements, architecture, and consumer spaces like shopping malls and amusement parks. Klein's often schoolmarmish tone gets in the way of his ambitious secondary goal--to provide a history of the American audience's perception. Realistic, typical look at Derm, rather than worst case scenario!

This is by far the best Derm book I've seen. I'm personally a WHNP, so I think this book covers more of what I see in better detail than some of the others. I really like the care plans included for specific issues with multiple steps and algorithms covered. I have a few others that were recommended by dermatologists to me, but this one just fits my thinking and practice style better. Even if I think a pt problem may be something else, I can usually find the right diagnosis just by going to my initial differential and then nearby, I'll find the correct diagnosis staring me in the face. This book is laid out well with realistic pictures, not worse-case-scenario. So many books give you the worst case they've ever seen, but this is more the typical case picture you'll see. Really appreciate this book!

Good conclusion to an enjoyable series

I've been dying to read Sorceress for ages! I had to know how this series would end, after the ending of Steadfast when Nadia swore herself to the One Beneath. It seemed an insurmountable feat. How do you take down the one you're unable to do anything against?

Just as in the first two books, the magic is the highlight of the book. And the ultimate magic, in the end, oh, it made me so happy. It's all about memories and emotions. If you haven't experienced it, you can't use it for a spell, so some spells are out of a witch's depth. I loved seeing a slightly darker side to Nadia, even as she struggles to keep that at bay, and the way she uses the magic to achieve the end is just...awesome, the best embodiment of what I've loved about these books all along.

I also have really come to love the characters, Verlaine especially and Asa as a close second. Nadia and Mateo are great, but Verlaine is so much more compelling. She's been deprived of love from anyone other than her uncles her entire life, but she's still got so much love to give. Some days she struggles, because she knows her friends don't care for her the way they should under the curse, and there's so much more of that here. She's vilified by the town because no one can feel affection for her and as conditions in Captive's Sound get worse, people start to blame her for Elizabeth's havoc. It's truly dangerous for her at times, bBut Verlaine is unflagging, and you can't help but really love her for that.

As a series ender, parts felt a little anticlimactic to me, knowing the big ending was here, but they didn't feel as big as maybe they should. I still loved how things were solved, though, because it was so true to the magic in this series. Even though the ending isn't all sunshines and smiles. it's very fitting for the scope of the books, but satisfying as well.

The Spellcaster series is one I've really enjoyed. It's truly worth is solely for the magic, because even with three books behind me, I still can't get enough of it, but you'll come to love the characters, without a doubt.

Sorceress is the third and final book in Claudia Gray's Spellcaster trilogy. This continues the story of one small town on the brink of the apocalypse, and the group of friends trying to save it. Nadia is a witch, working with the evil Elizabeth to undermine her plans. Mateo, a boy whose family is cursed to predict the future and go insane because of it, is in love with Nadia. Silver haired Verlaine is cursed to never be loved, but she commits herself to her friends and their fight.

I enjoyed the first two books in this trilogy, Spellcaster and Steadfast, but Sorceress is by far the best installment. There is so much that happens in this final book: Nadia learning from Elizabeth, lots of betrayal, and two simultaneously final battles. All the while, Captive's Sound is falling apart as Elizabeth builds her bridge to the One Beneath.

I appreciated the (what felt like to me) more traditional representation of witchcraft - only women, books of spells, intense secrecy. I especially enjoyed how spells are performed through memories, a very nice world building touch. Elizabeth was an amazing villain, with her eerie nature and cruel disposition. My favorite character, however, was Verlaine. I might be in the minority here, but I prefer Verlaine to Nadia, whom at times I found vexing. But Verlaine, with her vintage clothes and journalistic aspirations, brought so much depth and brilliance to this series. My heart broke for her at times, and there was no pairing I shipped harder in this trilogy than Verlaine and Asa. Yep, even more than Nadia and Mateo! The demon Asa could truly see Verlaine, immune to the curse, and their relationship was honestly the high point of this book for me.

My issues with Sorceress, besides some character things I never really got into, dealt with this "final battle." I was surprised at how quickly it was over. Their goal is to defeat the devil, so one would expect it to not be handled quite so...easily? It felt a bit anticlimactic. That being said, I still enjoyed Sorceress and would recommend the Spellcaster trilogy to anyone who enjoys YA fantasy that features witches.

EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER

It took me more than a month after the book was released to actually start reading it. And it's not because I wasn't looking forward to it. Trust me, I was super excited, but also super nervous. Have you guys felt that way before? Like, you really do not want to read the last book of the series (or maybe just any book) because you're scared of what will happen in that book? Because in ALL books I've read, I know that horrible things happen before there can be a happily ever after. So, ANYWAY hahaha. About this series? It's amazing.

If you've read the first two books, you would know that this book is about witches; the good and the bad. And you would also know that Nadia joined the evil side to save her friends. And it's been on everyone's minds ever since: Would she turn as evil as Elizabeth? WELLLLL. You just have to read the book to find out HAHA. But this last book, it almost gave me a heart attack every single turn of the page. I was so GLUED to each and every page such that I did not even update my reading status on twitter HAHA. And for the first time in forever, I stayed up to midnight to finish this book ;)

So yes, this book is kind of a big deal. It actually talks about doubt and insecurities. In this book, lots of Nadia's flaws were actually shown. The consequences that followed everytime she let the anger get the better of her.

There were times though, that I honestly wanted Elizabeth dead. Like, hello, ARE YOU CRAZY hahaha. But honestly, the ending? It ended nicely, it really did. But it was quite sad too. I smiled but I cried at the same time.

Though, you know what I haven't got enough of? ASA AND VERLAINE HAHAHA. I want MORE of them. I felt that Verlaine was much more a part of the story in the past few books, and I had always complained that she was quite underrated. But in this book, YAYYY she's actually quite kickass. ;)

AND I would lovelovelove to have a standalone novel about Asa and Verlaine HAHAH. (Did you see that, Claudia Gray?)

In conclusion, the final book really went out with a BANG. And if you loved the first two books, you will LOVE this book. And like me, you'll be taken on an emotional rollercoaster ride ;)
